Food Stop #16 : Hawaii #7

My last entry on Honolulu is from a hot dog joint called Hank's Haute Dogs.  They make specialty hot dogs that you won't see in most places so I had to try them.  We went on a Saturday since that was the only day of the week they offer a Lobster Sausage hot dog which was also bacon-wrapped.  As you can tell, the words "lobster" and "bacon" being in it was an early indication that this would be the best hot dog I'd ever have and it's a shame I could only have it in Hawaii.  It was a really juicy hot dog where you can really taste the lobster in it along with the bacon the surrounds it.  I ate it super slow to savour it and I still miss it to this day.

Food Stop #15 : Hawaii #6

One local bakery that everyone loved was Leonard's Bakery.  Their main specialty are malasadas which is Portuguese deep fried dough often with filling.  Leonard's bakery has other things on the menu but I went strictly for malasadas which come in a plethora of flavours such as cinnamon, custard and even a flavour of the month.  They were very soft and chewy but super satisfying and they make for a hell of a breakfast, dessert or late night snack.  Good luck eating just one of these.

Food Stop #14 : Hawaii #5

This was my first food truck festival so it would've been a better idea if I was hungrier but I still made the most of it.  Honolulu has a month food truck festival every last Friday of the month, and since it was October, they had made it Halloween themed. My night consisted of a Waffle Dog, a Catfish Po Boy Sandwich, and for dessert, a Red Velvet Malasada.

Food Stop #13 : Hawaii #4

This wasn't a big spot what-so-ever but I had to show Home Bar's Tater Tot Nachos.  I had to have them when I found out about them and they were great despite the small portion.  Still worth a try if you have time.

Food Stop #11 : Hawaii #2

A couple days later, I wanted another burger so I decided to check out Teddy's Bigger Burgers in by Waikiki Beach.  This location was full of tourists so you're better off going there when it's not a main meal time.  I ordered a burger that had a Teriyaki infused patty and what made this burger amazing: a seasoned hash brown.  Yes, there was a seasoned hash brown inside the burger.  This was one of the most unique burgers I've had and definitely the best burger I had in Honolulu.  It was really juicy and rich in taste and I didn't even get to talk about how good the Cajun Fries were.  That meal filled me up great which was a problem since I had about a 25 minute walk back to where I staying.  We call that a good problem.

Food Stop #10 : Hawaii #1

This starts one of my many entries from Honolulu as I spent over a week there.  As soon as I landed, my cousin took me to this burger spot called The Counter. After 15 hours of flying, a hearty burger and a milkshake is what I needed.  I ordered a bison burger, which I've never had before, and an Apple Crumble Milkshake.  The bison burger wasn't as juicy as a normal beef burger but still damn delicious.

Other Sporting Venues #5 : Aloha Stadium

I took a trip to Honolulu because why not? One problem I faced was that there is no professional sports team in Hawaii so trying to find a sporting event was a bit of a challenge until I realized it's college football season.  I bought tickets to watch the University of Hawaii Warriors play in their home of Aloha Stadium, the stadium where many NFL Pro-Bowls are played.  I only stayed for a half as the teams weren't the greatest but I was able to somewhat see the atmosphere of a Division I football game.  And yes, I had a churro.
