MLB Ballpark #5/30 : Phoenix

Here I was in the dessert, which is the total opposite of what I had just went through with a Toronto winter.  Luckily I went in May where it was only 25° Celsius, and I hear it can get up to 40+° Celsius in the summer and I had a black shirt on that day.  Regrettably, I didn't spend much time at all downtown so I couldn't get the full experience of the city but from what I can tell, it was really modern.  All I did that weekend there was a ballgame, a trip to a Mexican restaurant courtesy of some of my family that lived there, and an impromptu trip to Las Vegas, but that's another story.

Impressions: It's a really modern ballpark as it has a retractable roof which is necessary for the super hot summers where they have to close the roof so that people don't sweat like fat guy in Denny's, and free WiFi in the stadium which was new to me,  Another good thing about the stadium were the affordable concessions.  If I recall correctly, a beer and a snack (I of course had a churro) and it didn't cost me over $10 (which is a beer back in the Rogers Centre Skydome).  To add to the experience, they let fans up close around the dugout fence up to around 30 minutes prior to first pitch so you're able to get autographs and photos with players rather easily which makes for a few stories for a week.  In conclusion, the stadium itself was worth going for what you may be able to experience despite not caring much about the teams playing.
